Notice of sale of Lincoln's Farm and surrounding land has appeared. To read more about the history of the farm go to Portarlington Tourism http://www.portarlingtontourism.com.au/news.html

This is a tragic story of an historical farm and its buildings, left to decay despite it's importance to the national farming and dairying story, in particular early cheesemaking.

In 1978 when the main house (4 and 5) was still inhabited, Colin Thiele was able to write,
"Sunshine and shadow work strangely at Lincoln's Place. In spring and early summer the light fairly dances. Gables and edges gleam, the ochre face of the loft lifts and glows, the yellow lichen on the old mulberry tree turns to gold, the rusty remnants of tools and odd lengths of ancient chain hanging from hooks or branches take on vigour and clarity of form".
